2020 Bursary Applications

The Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association (ANZMH Association) is offering 2 bursaries of $5000 to two students studying in the field of mental health.

Applications are invited from students enrolled in a course that leads to a qualification (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters). The bursary is to be administered by the ANZMH Association Management Board. Successful applicants may have lived experience, be fulltime carers, Indigenous, Torres Strait Islander, Maori or Pacific Islander, or studying remotely in a regional area.

Applicants are required to provide:

  • Written proof of achievement (i.e. grade point average)
  • Demonstrated need for financial support
  • Three written, current character references
  • Details of course being undertaken
  • Short resume of personal lived experience, achievements and future aspirations (300 words)

Only individual applications will be considered.

ANZMH Association may reserve the right to split the bursary if multiple applicants are deemed suitable and may award this bursary one time or annually over a period of time (to be determined). Shortlisted applicants may be contact by ANZMH Association for a phone interview.

Eligibility to Apply;

  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Study must be related to field of mental health
  • Course of study leads to a qualification (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters) and is not a research program.
  • Must not have received a scholarship in the last 12 months
  • Must be a member of ANZMH Association (free to join at anzmh.asn.au)
  • Available for those with lived experience or full-time carers, those living in rural or remote areas, Indigenous, Torres Strait Islander, Maori or Pacific Islander

  • Prior education details
  • Present course of study
  • Demonstrated need for financial support
  • 3 written and dated character references
  • 300-word summary of lived experience, achievements and future aspirations
  • If the successful applicant’s course is not passed, reimbursement will be sought by ANZMH Association
