Bonita Lousich
Manager Peer Support Program, Qld Fire and Emergency Services (QFES)
Bonita is an experienced practitioner who has worked in the first responder space for the last seven years. She is passionate about workplace wellbeing and psychosocial safety in the workplace. She has practised in the field of psychology in both organisational and management/advisory roles. Bonita holds a Masters degree in Organisational Psychology and currently manages the Peer Support Program at Qld Fire and Emergency Services.
Prior to her current appointment, she has worked as a senior psychologist with Qld Police Service and has provided consultation services to NSW Police, NSW SES, and NSW Fire and Rescue. Bonita has a deep sense of connection with first responders and defence members; she has two family members who are current Qld Police officers and her son is a current serving member in the Australian Army.
Bonita is passionate about evidence-based treatment, and has a special interest in vicarious trauma, organisational change, psychosocial risk, and leadership. She is experienced in leading mental health service delivery programs within large and complex government sector organisations. She experienced in the development and delivery of evidence-based interventions to manage proactive mental health initiatives and in the mitigation of psychosocial risk.
