Samantha Hodges
Military Psychologist, Australian Army
Samantha is a senior clinical Psychology Officer within the Australian Army. She began her military career in 2005 with the Reserves, before transferring to the ful time Army in 2007. She has proudly supported the mental health of ADF members both in Australia and overseas on numerous deployments.
Samantha holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Wollongong, a Masters of Clinical Psychology (Defence) from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Certificate in Global Health from the United States Uniformed Services University of the Health Services, and is currently completing a PhD through the University of Queensland.
Samantha is the co-author of three published military research papers presented at international conferences on the topics of: sub-syndromal Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the mental health of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and the efficacy of telehealth. She previously held an Advisor role on the Minister for Defence Personnel’s Council for Women and Families United by Defence Service where she contributed to the strategic framing and communication of Council issues and proudly provided the lived experience of a female officer.
Beyond work and study, Samantha enjoys horse riding around the world, showing her Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, and is an avid fan of American college football.
