Andy Cullen
Founder, PTSD Resurrected Inc Charity
Andy Cullen is a veteran with 17 years of service in the Australian Army. He began his military career as a soldier in the Royal Australian Infantry (RAINF) and later commissioned as an Officer in the Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), specialising in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). His leadership and courage during operations in Afghanistan earned him the Commendation for Distinguished Service.
After multiple deployments, Andy was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). His transition from military to civilian life was marked by a deep personal struggle with identity, purpose, and mental health. This battle culminated in a period of dark depression and hospitalisation, nearly costing him his life.
Out of this adversity, Andy emerged with a renewed mission: to bring hope, awareness, and support to others navigating the effects of trauma. As co-founder of PTSD Resurrected Inc, he now dedicates his life to equipping veterans, first responders, and their families with the tools to understand, manage, and overcome the challenges of PTSD and moral injury.
Andy is also a published author of Resurrected – A Story of Hope, which tells his journey from brokenness to restoration. His story is a testament to resilience, faith, and the power of community in the face of overwhelming adversity.
