Discover the stories that shaped Hobart on this guided 3km walking tour through the city’s historic waterfront and charming colonial heart. Explore working docks, heritage-listed buildings, and Australia’s only Georgian corner.

Uncover tales of Tasmanian Aboriginal history, early British settlement, convicts, tycoons, and adventurers as you stroll through beautifully preserved gardens and architecture. From the bustling waterfront to Salamanca Place, your guide will bring Hobart’s fascinating past to life — the good, the bad, and the scandalous.

This is a private tour exclusively for conference delegates and their guests. Tickets are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your place.

Explore MONA – Museum of Old and New Art

If you're arriving in Hobart early or staying on after the conference, don’t miss the chance to experience one of Tasmania’s most iconic attractions, MONA.

Described as provocative, bold, and unlike any museum you've visited before, MONA is the creation of Tasmanian local David Walsh—a self-made art collector who turned a private collection into a world-renowned cultural destination. The museum blends contemporary and ancient art with cutting-edge architecture and a good dose of irreverence. It’s a place designed to surprise, challenge, and entertain.

Beyond the art, MONA is home to bars, restaurants, a winery, cellar door, live music venues, and even a tennis court. Getting there is part of the fun—take the quirky ferry ride from Hobart’s waterfront and enjoy the scenic journey.

You can explore the museum in a few hours, but we recommend taking your time and making a day of it.

Please note: This is an optional self-guided experience for conference delegates.

To book your ferry tickets and entry into the museum, please click here to visit the MONA website.
