The 2018 Australian Rural & Remote Mental Health Symposium will this year be held over 15-17 October at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, Tasmania.
Joining us at the conference is Mrs Lucy Brogden, Chair at the National Mental Health Commission who will present on ‘How Do Australia’s Rural and Remote Mental Health Services Stack Up?’
Abstract
Australians living in rural and remote areas are impacted by mental ill health at a similar rate as people living in major cities. But people in rural and remote areas face greater challenges, including access to the services and supports they need.
What impact does the gap in mental health services have on Australians? What other barriers do people living in rural and remote areas face when it comes to receiving care? And how can mental health outcomes in rural and remote communities be improved?
