Associate Professor, Black Dog Institute
Dr Michelle Tye (nee Torok) is an Associate Professor at the Black Dog Institute, University of New South Wales, where she leads the youth self-harm and suicide prevention lab. Her NHMRC-funded research program is focused on the development and implementation of novel interventions to prevent youth self-harm and suicide in community and school settings. Her research has led to the sustainable integration of several evidence-based prevention programs in NSW primary and secondary schools, influenced national and state-level policy, and facilitated significant government investment in place-based, multi-strategy prevention approaches.
