Martina McGrath is a lived experience practitioner recognised for contributions to lived experience practice and systems improvement in suicide prevention and mental health in Australia and internationally. Martina is also a graduate researcher in the final year of completing a PhD at the Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing at the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. Martina’s project focuses on understanding suicidality and disclosure in workplaces. Martina’s project will culminate in the development of guidelines to help support workers who experience suicidality while at work. Martina also works as a lived experience consultant. Previously, Martina served in the Australian Defence Force, as training instructor and later as Programs Manager for two promotional training programs. She has also worked as a consultant and held national and state-level leadership roles in the public and private sectors in occupational health and safety and human resource management.
