A proud Meriam woman from the Torres Strait, Professor Kerry Arabena is recognised nationally and internationally for her contributions to Indigenous health, environmental science and social work. At the University of Melbourne, she was Chair of Indigenous Health and Director of the Indigenous Health Equity Unit. As Managing Director of Karabena Consulting, she advises government, corporate and community stakeholders, and is the founding Managing Director of First 1000 Days Australia. A 2010 Australian of the Year finalist, she has served as President of EcoHealth International and consulted for the World Health Organization.
