Assunta brings more than 30 years of experience in the health, community, and family violence sectors, with a strong track record in strategy, governance, and culturally responsive service delivery.
Assunta has led cultural diversity strategies, supported multicultural advisory committees in health, and worked closely with migrant and refugee communities to amplify their voices in policy and program design. She has as a deep and practical understanding of gender-based violence, informed by years of frontline experience supporting women and children across crisis, recovery, and prevention settings. Assunta led the implementation of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) across at Western Health. She is currently the National Family Violence and Recovery Specialist at Good Shepherd.
Assunta is also a Committee Member of The Federation for Ethnic Communities Council (FECCA) Multicultural Advocates for Inclusive Aged Care, the Western Region Ethnic Communities Council and a board member of Women’s Health Victoria
