Strategic Project Coordinator, People with Disability Australia
Shannon is a woman with lived experience of disability and DFV. Originally from England, she relocated to Australia to pursue her dreams and advance her career in the human rights sector. Shannon brings extensive knowledge from her current role with People with Disability Australia (PWDA) and her previous position at the UK Ministry of Justice. In the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDI&B) sector, she developed a profound understanding of the dynamics and issues within the Department and the Government. She worked on numerous EDI&B projects addressing the needs of both staff and individuals within the criminal justice system, particularly concerning disability, reasonable adjustments, race, religion, and gender related initiatives. Shannon now engages in a range of projects with a strong focus on advocating for the rights of people with disability, addressing domestic violence, and other areas of human rights.
