Project Manager, People with Disability Australia
Summah McKinnon is a person with lived experience of disability, residing on the lands of the Dharawal people. Summah has dedicated over ten years to the disability sector and currently serves as a Project Manager at People with Disability Australia (PWDA).
Summah is a dedicated, passionate, and commercially astute Public Health professional with extensive experience in youth mental health, research and inclusive design.
Summah’s career began with an Australian national youth mental health organisation, where she emerged as an international delegate, advocate, mentor, and storyteller.
Summah has utilised her platform to continue to share her story, notably speaking at events such as International Day of People with Disability.
Summah is a strong advocate for inclusive design and employs co-development strategies to meaningfully engage with the disability community at PWDA. Her efforts focus on building safe and available pathways to leadership for women and gender diverse individuals with disability and building access into Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) organisations to ensure women and children with disability feel safe to access these essential supports and advocate for their needs.
