Lazariah Nona is a proud Torres Strait Islander woman from the Mura Wakaid and Argun tribes of Lag Badu (Badu Island), within the Zenadth Kes Nation. She brings over a decade of experience working across the Torres and Cape region in the NGO and not-for-profit Indigenous Social and Emotional Wellbeing sector. Lazariah is a mother to children of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and draws on strong lived experience to inform her work. She is deeply committed to grassroots approaches and is an advocate for the recognition and amplification of Torres Strait Islander women’s voices.
