Grant Gaston
My name is Grant Gaston, I was born into a farming family enjoying a vibrant childhood in rural NZ. My early years through to High School was characterised by a passion for sports more than academia. My first love was rugby, playing throughout School at First XV to Premier Level and representative level.
Initially, my aspirations were to join the NZ Police, however a lifechanging accident some 27 years ago resulted in pivoting to earning a Bachelor of Social Work from Massey University. Over the next 21 years I dedicated myself to Child Protection services, working both front line and in management roles within the state system.
My commitment to helping others led me to spend 7 years with the Ministry of Education supporting educational needs and fostering inclusive environment. I am currently the Regional Manager for the Central Region (Hamilton through to Wellington) for the Problem Gambling Foundation (PGF Services). My role aligns with a passion for removing barriers and enabling individuals to achieve their fullest potential.
