Take a moment to recharge and decompress with our complimentary Turkish Ceramic Painting experience in the Ballroom Foyer. During scheduled breaks on Tuesday 24 November, delegates are invited to enjoy mindful colouring inspired by 16th-century Ottoman Iznik tiles.

Choose from three coasters or trinket dishes, or one vase, and immerse yourself in a calming, creative activity designed to help you reset between sessions. All materials are provided, along with Turkish tea and sweets — simply drop in, unwind, and create at your own pace.

Morning Self-Guided Walk – Australian War Memorial

If you’re arriving early or have time before the conference begins, consider a peaceful morning walk to the Australian War Memorial. Open from 8:30am, it offers a quiet and reflective start to your time in Canberra.

From Hotel Realm, head north along Adelaide Avenue, continue toward State Circle, then follow Anzac Parade straight to the Memorial. The walk takes approximately 45–50 minutes (around 3.5km). Alternatively, a short taxi or rideshare will take around 10 minutes.

Allow 60–90 minutes to explore the galleries, Hall of Memory and surrounding grounds before returning in time for the day’s program.

Parliamentary Triangle Walking Tour

Monday 23 November | 8:00–11:00am | From $39

Start your time in Canberra with a guided walk through the nation’s political and cultural heart. Join experienced guide Charles for a comprehensive 2–3 hour tour exploring the iconic landmarks of the Parliamentary Triangle.

This 4km loop takes you through Old Parliament House and inside New Parliament House for short visits, while uncovering the stories that have shaped Australia’s democracy. Along the way, you’ll pass the beautifully designed Senate Gardens and take in Canberra’s striking landscape.

A meaningful and active way to begin your conference experience before the day’s sessions commence.

Delegate Wellbeing & Support

We recognise that the conversations held at this conference can be powerful, personal and, at times, confronting. Your wellbeing is central to the experience we are creating.

Confidential, qualified counsellors will be available onsite throughout the event, with a dedicated private counselling room for any delegate seeking immediate support. A quiet space will also be available for those who feel overstimulated or simply need time away from the program to decompress.

You are encouraged to step outside for fresh air, take a gentle walk around Hotel Realm, or pause whenever you need. If attending sessions in person feels overwhelming, keynote presentations and main plenary sessions can be viewed online from your hotel room or from home if required.

There is no expectation to push through. Move at your own pace. Step in and out as needed. We are here to support you thoughtfully, respectfully and without judgement.
