EaseUp is an exciting innovative community-based, youth service. Within our addiction service, you will have the opportunity to work with Rangatahi/youth aged 12-24 years, where we offer holistic support to fit the needs of Rangatahi and where Rangatahi feel most comfortable e.g. whare, papa Kainga, local park.

You'll be joining a close knit and supportive whanau at EaseUp, who are passionate about supporting Rangatahi and have seen great success with their community model. Emerge Aotearoa are advocates for maintaining a work life balance, which can be achieved within EaseUp services.

Ngā Ratonga - Our services

Our EaseUp whanau's model of care is based around dual peer support, clinician approach working with Rangatahi. Working within this new service, you will be at the forefront of change in the health sector and contribute to the further development of our model of care.

In addition to the above our EaseUp service works within the principles of abstinence and harm reduction, in a holistic manner, recognising the multi-faceted problems that co-exist with AOD addiction.

Due to the success of the delivery of this model, we are currently expanding across West Auckland and have multiple roles available.

He kōrero mō te tūranga - The role

Our clinicians are responsible for providing clinical assessment and treatment for young people presenting with substance use issues and/or mental health issues. You will be a resilient natural leader, approachable, happy to support and offer guidance to colleagues. You will ensure Rangatahi are supported to work towards their holistic goals by your integration of clinical expertise and competencies, with recovery approaches. Completing client pathway administration is also a large part of the role.

As a part of our EaseUp expansion you will initially commence your employment in Henderson while we work to establish another Hub in West Auckland.

We are looking for nine registered Mental AOD Clinicians/mental health professionals that can meet the below criteria.

He kōrero mōu - About you:

  • Registered under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 e.g. nurse, psychologist, psychotherapist, occupational therapist, OR
  • A fully registered alcohol and drug and/or gambling practitioner member of the Addiction Practitioners' Association Aotearoa-New Zealand (dapaanz); OR
  • A fully registered Social Worker / Counsellor
  • A passion for and understanding of working with youth
  • Strong professional boundaries and self-care strategies
  • Well-developed documentation and computer skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice
  • A current full clean driver's licence
