Ngā Ratonga - Our Service
The Allan Duffy Recovery Centre is our Intensive Service for recovery located on the North Shore. We aim to provide a safe a nurturing space where whānau feel supported to live their best lives and caters for up to 6 Tangata Whaiora, who are working towards their recovery and rehabilitation to move into independent community living.
Our dedicated Kaimahi provide recovery orientated support and rehabilitation to Tangata whaiora with complex and enduring mental health needs. We are a 24/7 residential unit that works in collaboration with Tangata whaiora and their whanau to develop skills necessary to transition into more independent accommodation and support.
He kōrero mō te tūranga - The role
We are looking for a mental health professional to join our Emerge Aotearoa whanau. You will need to be able to successfully interact with both whanau and support agencies, while possessing a strong understanding of cultural contexts and self-awareness.
When it comes to our resident's recovery and wellbeing, we make sure they're input is central to the decision-making process. You'll need to bring your clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice, as you'll be making a strong contribution to the planning and review of individualised support plans. You'll be able to identify achievable goals, encourage relationships, community participation and life skills.
This is a full-time permanent position and works on the following rostered shifts (7am to 3.30pm) shifts and afternoon (3pm to 11.30pm) Monday - Sunday.
He kōrero mōu - About you:
Sometimes faced with challenging behavior you'll utilise your calmness to engage and empathise with whānau and be quick to think on your feet with how to deal with situations when whānau become unwell and are in need of support. You will need to be flexible and happy to pick up 'hands on' duties.
In addition to the above you will also have:
- a current registration with a professional body covered by HPCA 2003 Act, Social Work Registration or have a current APC
- resilience and strong personal and professional boundaries
- a current Full New Zealand driver's licence
- the right to work in New Zealand.
