He kōrero mō te tūranga - The role
Due to expansion and internal promotions, we are looking for a registered Mental Health Professional to work in our forensic rehabilitation service. Working in this small, cohesive team of other Mental Health Professionals, Support Workers and your Manager, you will be well supported and exposed to challenging but rewarding work.
Our service is a 24/7 residential forensic rehabilitation service with the capacity to house 5 x clients. This role offers the opportunity to work with clients from a forensic perspective, taking the clinical lead and supporting them to rehabilitate and reintegrate back into the community. This role also includes providing coaching and mentoring to Support Workers in order to achieve great health outcomes for our clients.
You'll bring your relevant clinical knowledge and post qualifying experiences from the nursing/mental health sector and apply and expand them with the main goal of improving the services for our Tangata Whaiora. You will do this through the following:
- Integrating clinical and rehabilitation knowledge and competencies with recovery approaches to provide quality services to clients and their family/whanau.
- Facilitating clients to work towards their personal goals and aspirations.
- Providing dedicated key support to clients.
- Conducting assessments and reviews.
The shifts are rostered for morning (7.00am to 3.30pm) and afternoon (3.00pm to 11.30pm). This role will include working weekends.

You will have a passion for forensic mental health and and supporting people through their recovery and relevant qualification in nursing
- Current registration with a professional body covered by HPCA 2003 Act, Social Work Registration, Nursing, Occupational Therapist or DAAPANZ
- 2 or more years' experience in working within the mental health sector
- Full New Zealand driver Licence
