He kōrero mō te tūranga - The Role

Our Kaiārahi role is varied and requires travel across the Tāmaki. You will play an integral and active part in the regional leadership to influence how services and tikanga are delivered throughout the region. Naturally, you will be a staunch advocate for Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori, with a passion for people, being vital in the Kaiārahi role.

A typical day as a Kaiārahi will see you utilising your strong relationship building skills to increase Māori Cultural Competency across the regions, collaborating with Regional and District Managers, various external partners, and leadership teams, develop relationships and partnerships with iwi, hapū and whānau.

Other key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Māori Cultural Mentoring and Coaching
  • To ensure that our policies are reflective of the treaty and improve health equity outcomes for Māori Kaimahi and tangata whaiora and their whanau.  
    champion and promote a model of a treaty focused organisation.  
  • You will have a blended schedule of working autonomously, interacting with Te Puna Ora Team and Regional Teams with evolving responsibilities.
This role is a permanent full-time position and operates between Monday and Friday.
