Abstract

What does it take to develop mentally healthy workplaces? The answer could lie in improving psychological safety climate. Organisations continue to invest in wellness programs and encourage employees to build their resilience. Is this the right approach?

It takes more than a discounted health-club membership and mindfulness programs to move the needle on employee wellbeing. Seventy-five per cent of people say that the most stressful part of their job is their immediate supervisor. The biggest cause of chronic illness is stress and the biggest cause of stress is work. Linda will discuss why psychological safety is the key factor in high performing teams, wellbeing and engagement and what we can do to improve psychological safety climate in the workplace.
